Second opinion and medical report review
A second opinion is a doctor’s review of reports and results you already have, for example an ECG, echocardiogram, Holter, lab results, imaging reports or a hospital discharge summary. The doctor explains what they mean and what questions to ask next. It does not replace the doctor who is treating you.
In your first message, send the service name only. Please do not send medical details or files until the coordinator explains how records are shared.
What to prepare
- Clear copies of your reports, with dates.
- The question you most want answered.
- Your current medicines.
- Earlier reports for comparison, if you have them.
Raw imaging files, such as scan images: please ask the coordinator first.
How to share your documents
Do not send files until the coordinator tells you the agreed, secure way to share them. Please do not put medical details in the first WhatsApp message. Send just the service name.
What you receive
You receive a written summary, or a remote consultation to talk it through. The coordinator confirms which, for your case, before you agree. The coordinator also confirms the timing and the full price, including what is included. A review time is never promised in advance.
What we cannot do
Limits of a report review
- We cannot review without enough information.
- We cannot help with an emergency. In Egypt, call 123.
- We cannot make decisions on behalf of your treating doctor.
- We cannot re-read raw imaging unless that has been arranged.
In your first message, send the service name only. Please do not send medical details or files until the coordinator explains how records are shared.
Common questions
Does a second opinion replace my own doctor?
No. It helps you understand your reports and decide what to ask next. Decisions about your treatment stay with the doctor who treats you.
What reports can be reviewed?
For example an ECG, echocardiogram, Holter report, lab results, imaging reports and a hospital discharge summary. Ask the coordinator if yours is something else.
Can the doctor re-read my scans or X-ray images?
Usually the review is of the written report. Raw imaging files are possible only if arranged first, so please ask the coordinator.
How do I send my documents?
Please do not send anything yet. The coordinator will tell you the agreed, secure way to share records. This website does not take uploads.
How long will the review take?
The coordinator confirms the timing with you before you agree. We cannot promise a time in advance.
